Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy applies to all apps and services released by fixED Development ("fixED Development", "we", "us"). Your privacy matters to us, and we operate on a few core principles:
- We are thoughtful about the personal information we ask for and collect.
- We store personal information only for as long as we have a reason to keep it.
- We aim to make it simple for you to control your information.
- We aim for full transparency in how we gather, use, and share your information.
Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
We develop apps across the Apple ecosystem. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you use any of our apps, our website, and related services (together, the "Services"). You can see our apps at fixed-development.com.
fixED Development is the data controller responsible for your personal information under this Policy. Our Services are offered worldwide. Depending on where you live and which Service you use, the way we process your information - and the rights you have - may differ, as described below. If you have any questions about who is responsible for your data, contact us at privacy@fixed-development.com.
Information We Collect
We only collect information when we have a reason to - to provide our Services, communicate with you, or improve what we build. We collect it in three ways.
Information you provide to us
- Basic account information: if a feature requires an account, we may ask for an email address and a name or username.
- Transaction and billing information: when you purchase a subscription or one-time item, the payment is processed by Apple. Apple provides us with limited, non-sensitive purchase information; we do not receive or store your full card details.
- Communications: when you contact support, respond to a survey, or send feedback, we keep a copy of that communication.
- Content you create: some apps let you write notes, journal entries, or add photos. This content is stored on your device by default (see "AI Features" below for the one exception).
Information we collect automatically
- Log & device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, language, and crash diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics).
- Usage information: how and when features are used, to understand and improve our apps (via Firebase Analytics).
- Approximate location: we may infer approximate region from your IP address for localization and analytics. Precise location is only accessed if a feature requires it and you grant permission.
- Stored information: with your permission, an app may access your photo library or camera to enable a specific feature.
- Advertising & attribution identifiers: where an app shows ads or measures marketing, identifiers may be used only after you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency and any required consent form (see "Consent & Tracking").
How and Why We Use Information
- To provide and maintain our Services, including processing purchases.
- To develop and improve our apps and add features users will enjoy.
- To understand how our Services are used and make them easier to use.
- To measure and improve the effectiveness of our marketing, where permitted.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, and technical issues.
- To communicate with you about your account, support requests, or updates.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
AI Features
Some apps include AI-powered features - for example, transforming a note you wrote into more polished text. When you choose to use an AI feature, the specific input needed for that feature (such as the text you enter) is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a third-party AI processing provider solely to generate your result.
- Data sent to the AI provider is limited to what is necessary to fulfill your request.
- Your photos are only sent to an AI service if a feature explicitly requires it; otherwise they remain on your device.
- In line with our providers' API data-usage policies, data sent via the API is not used to train AI models and is retained only briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion.
- We do not send identifying information (your name, email, phone) to the AI provider unless you include it in your input. We recommend not including sensitive personal details in AI inputs.
For full detail, see our AI Privacy Policy.
Legal Bases (EU/EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Union, EEA, or United Kingdom, our legal grounds for processing your information are: (1) performance of our agreement with you; (2) compliance with a legal obligation; (3) protection of vital interests; (4) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our Services; and/or (5) your consent, for example before advertising or tracking technologies are used.
Sharing Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: vendors that help us operate our apps - Apple (payments & App Store), RevenueCat (subscription management), Firebase (analytics & crash reporting), and, where applicable, advertising and attribution partners. Each is bound by privacy commitments.
- Legal and regulatory: in response to a lawful subpoena, court order, or government request.
- To protect rights and safety: where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent: when you direct us to share it.
- Aggregated or de-identified information: that cannot reasonably identify you.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. For example, technical logs are typically retained for around 30 days.
Security
No online service is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction.
Your Choices
- Limit what you provide: you can decline optional information, though some features may then be unavailable.
- Device permissions: you can revoke access to photos, location, notifications, and tracking in your device settings at any time.
- Marketing: you can opt out of promotional messages while still receiving essential account and legal notices.
- Delete your data: you can delete in-app content on your device, and you may request deletion of information we hold (see "How to Reach Us").
Consent & Tracking (Mobile)
Our apps ask for permission before using your device identifier for advertising or attribution, in line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency. Where required (for example in the EU/EEA), we present a consent form before any advertising or tracking technologies are activated. You can change these choices at any time in your device settings.
Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, object to or restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us below.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as device identifiers and IP address), commercial information (such as purchase history), internet or network activity (such as usage and diagnostics), approximate geolocation, and inferences drawn from the above. We collect this information for the business purposes described in "How and Why We Use Information."
Subject to the exceptions in the law, you have the right to: (1) know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (2) request deletion of your personal information; (3) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (4) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information; and (5) not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
"Sale" and "Sharing": We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when our apps display personalized advertising or measure marketing, the use of advertising identifiers may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. This only occurs after you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and any applicable consent form. You can opt out at any time by declining that prompt, withdrawing consent in the app, or disabling tracking in your device settings. To make a request, contact us at privacy@fixed-development.com; we will verify your request as required by law, and you may use an authorized agent.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
On our website, we and our providers may use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags) to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand traffic. In our apps, we use mobile SDKs and device identifiers rather than browser cookies. You can set your browser to reject cookies, and you can control app identifiers through your device settings and the consent choices described in "Consent & Tracking." Some features may not function properly without these technologies.
Third-Party Ads & Analytics
Where an app shows advertising or measures marketing, ads and measurement may be provided by third-party networks and attribution partners (activated only after your consent). These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about your use of our Services and, in some cases, across other apps and websites, in order to deliver and measure advertising. This Privacy Policy covers only our own collection of information; it does not cover the independent practices of third-party advertisers or analytics providers, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Transfers
Because our Services are offered worldwide, your information may be processed outside your country, including by our service providers. Where required, we take appropriate measures to protect it in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and where required by law we will notify you. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
